Abstract—This paper presently the design of multilayer optical filters using the Fourier Transform approach. In this study, an analytical relationship has been established between the spectra and the refractive index while keeping the optical thickness of the filter layers constant. The outcome of this design is a continuous refractive index curve, which was then transformed into a discrete curve, thus enabling the direct design of multilayer optical filters.

Index Terms—multilayer optical filters, fourier transform, fourier spectrum, thin films
